General Manager/Head Coach

Tyler Jones Tyler Jones his completed his second season as general manager of the Connecticut Pride. He was orginally hired as the club's director of operations when the franchise was purchased by Brian Foley in May of 1995. Due to his marketing expertise and his high level of community involvement, Jones was promoted to general manager only two months after being hired.

In his first year with the Pride, Jones implemented a corporate sponsorship program that included Aetna Life & Casualty, Fleet Bank and Connecticare.

Named the Continental Basketball Association's Coach of the Month for January 1998, Jones led the Pride to a franchise best 26 wins and the team's first-ever trip to the playoffs. He has coached two CBA-to-NBA call-ups in the Portland Trail Blazers' Rick Brunson and Kevin Ollie to the Orlando Magic.

Also, while serving as the club's general manager, Jones helped in the development of three current NBA players (Rusty LaRue - Chicago, Aaron Williams - Seattle and Shawnelle Scott - Cleveland) and one coach (Mark Osowski -assistant with Charlotte).

Prior to joining the Pride organization, Jones spent five years working in the medical supplies industry. He was a leader in corporate sales for Medline Industries before moving on to Medical Outpatient Services (MOS), which is one of three businesses owned by Foley's wife, Lisa Wilson Foley. As a leader in marketing, Jones created a new MOS division where he served as sales manager.

Jones also spent two years editing sportscasts for Connecticut's NBC affiliate, WVIT-Channel 30. He covered the Hartford Whalers of the National Hockey League, the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association and University of Connecticut basketball games.

The 34-year-old earned a communications degree from Trinity College in Hartford. In addition, he played professional basketball from 1983-85 for the East Hartford Explorers of the New England Basketball Association. In 1994, Jones was inducted into the East Hartford Explorers Tap-Off Club Hall of Fame and was awarded the NEBA Leadership Award.

A resident of East Hartford, Conn., Jones has a four-year-old son named Tyler, Jr.
